Looking towards the future in cancer therapy, there are quite a few chemo drug and biological therapies in the pipeline being investigated.  For your review, this is a list of some of these compiled in early 2007.  As of early 2008, these are still in the running. Use the search engines on this site to look up more details.

Here's a pipeline short-list:

-CEP-2563 (a tyrosine kinase inhibitor)
-ONYX-015 (a modified adenovirus)
-O-vax (a vaccine targeting ovarian cancer)
-CMB-401 (aka calicheamicin, a unique cytotoxic antibiotic)
-MDX-220 ( targets TAG-72, a tumor associated glycoprotein)
-TgDCC-E1A ( E1A, an anticancer gene, complexed to DC-cholesterol)
-p53 tumor suppressor gene therapy (an old concept with new twists)
-SU101 (a PDGF-r inhibitor)

-CEA-CIDE (aka labetuzumab, against GI, pancreatic, ovarian)

-Incel (aka Biricodar or VX-710; reduces MDR combined with Taxol)
-Diethylnorspermine (a polyamine analogue)
-OvaRex ( an anti-idiotype induction immune-therapy)
-BAY-12-9566 (an anti-angiogenesis factor)
-Satraplatin
(an oral platinum cytotoxic)
-Valstar (a lipophilic anthracycline analogue, intraperitoneal)

There are others, but this is a list of agents under investigation.  If you use the search engines linked to this site (Home, "More Offerings", "Search Clinical Trials") this starter list will get you going to find new and promising alternatives.  Wishing you the very best outcome and a long life!
