| mitosis | Pronounced "my toe sis", Mitosis is a very intricate process by which a dividing cell evenly distributes the genetic material to each daughter cell. This process occurs in most cells in the human body in order to grow and to replace old cells. Cancers undergo rapid mitosis,or rapid cell division, which is why they tend to grow rapidly. |
